Case for Change
The objective of this project is to ensure that Australia’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) system is adequately preparing learners in 3D printing, and to ensure that this learning is applicable across other industries where appropriate.
Feedback across a range of industries has highlighted that the current 3D printing Units of Competency require updating so that they can be used outside of the ICP training package.
PwC’s Skills for Australia submitted the Case for Change for this project to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) in September 2017.

Consultation
On behalf of the Printing and Graphic Arts Industry Reference Committee (IRC), PwC’s Skills for Australia carried out industry consultations for this project from January – May 2018.
Thank you to those who provided their valuable input.
Following the Printing and Graphic Arts IRC’s approval of the key recommendations we have developed draft training products to address the skills gaps identified in 3D printing.
We are now accepting feedback on the draft training products prior to developing a Case for Endorsement for changes to the ICT Training Package.
Consultation details for the draft training products can be found under the ‘Training Product Development’ tab above.
