Case for Change
The objective of this project is to review the Traffic Management units of competency in the RII training package.
A Business Case for this project was submitted to the AISC by SkillsDMC in November 2016 and subsequently endorsed.
On behalf of the Coal Mining, Drilling, Extractive, Metalliferous Mining and Civil Infrastructure Industry Reference Committees, PwC’s Skills for Australia carried out industry consultations for this project from July 2017 – May 2019.
The consultation period for this project has now closed.
Following this process we drafted training products to address skills gaps in Traffic Management.
Training Product Development
Following the MDCI IRCs’ approval of our key findings from consultation, we developed draft training products to address the skills gaps identified for the industry.
The public review period for these draft training products is now closed.
The next step is to develop a Case for Endorsement for changes to the RII Training Package, which is to be provided to the MDCI IRCs for approval and submitted to the AISC later this year.

The Case for Endorsement for Traffic Management was approved by the AISC in October 2019.
Resulting changes to the Training Package can be viewed in the Case for Endorsement document below.
These changes are now reflected on the Training.gov.au website.
