Case for Change
The objective of this project is to update training in emergency response and rescue in the RII training package.
A Case for Change for this project was approved by the AISC in August 2018.

Consultation
On behalf of the Civil Infrastructure Industry Reference Committee, PwC’s Skills for Australia carried out industry consultation for this project from February to May, 2019.
The consultation period has now closed.

Training Product Development
Following the MDCI IRCs’ approval of our key findings from consultation, we developed draft training products to address the skills gaps identified for the industry.
The public review period for these draft training products is now closed.
The next step is to develop a Case for Endorsement for changes to the RII Training Package, which is to be provided to the MDCI IRCs for approval and submitted to the AISC later this year.

Release
The Case for Endorsement for Emergency Response and Rescue was approved by the AISC in October 2019.
Resulting changes to the Training Package can be viewed in the Case for Endorsement document below.
These changes are now reflected on the Training.gov.au website.
