Case for Change
The objective of this project is to update training in common skills areas in the RII training package, to ensure it supports workforce agility.
A Case for Change for this project was approved by the AISC in August 2018.

Consultation
On behalf of the Coal Mining, Drilling, Extractive, Metalliferous Mining and Civil Infrastructure Industry Reference Committees, PwC’s Skills for Australia commenced industry consultations for this project in February 2019.
Consultation will focus on how we can improve training with respect to general employability skills for roles in the MDCI sector to enable workers to move between roles in response to fluctuations in industry demand.
Outcomes from the consultation will also endeavour to improve training for Surface Ventilation Technicians, Surface Ventilation Officers and Underground Ventilation Technicians to meet the needs of industry and raise safety standards.
