Case for Change
The objective of this project is to review the coal mining units of competency in the RII training package.
A Case for Change for this project was approved by the AISC in August 2018.

Consultation
On behalf of the Coal Mining IRC, PwC’s Skills for Australia commenced industry consultations for this project from November 2018.
Consultation will focus on identifying opportunities to create more transferable skills in coal mining, as well as focus upon other issues such as the impact of new technologies on ways of working, the increased safety focus among regulators and the need for greater support to develop managerial skills for leadership roles.
