Case for Change
The objective of this project is to review qualifications and units of competency relating to Visual Arts, Crafts and Design in the CUA Training Package.
It proposes to address industry demand for enhanced commercial skills (including writing grants, applying for proposals and drafting contracts) for visual arts and crafts professionals, designers, graphic designers, visual communications specialists, photographers and photo imaging specialists. This project also addresses the impact of changing technologies and the use of multimodal art forms.
A Case for Change for this project was approved by the AISC in June 2019.

On behalf of the CUA IRC, we have commenced consultation for this project.
Consultation will focus on identifying the key changes to training products required to more closely align training in the creative arts with the skills needs of industry. Activities will include targeted consultation with key stakeholders in the form of face-to-face and phone interviews, the establishment of a project working group, and a survey.
