Mental Health and Organisational Disruption

Project overview

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the AISC Emergency Response Sub-committee and Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE), commissioned the development of a new cross-sectoral skill set to support mental health in the context of organisational disruption.

About the skill set

The number of people experiencing mental health challenges in the Australian workforce significantly increased as a result of the disruption caused by COVID-19. The pandemic also accelerated the need to address critical workforce and skill gaps, creating an opportunity for the VET sector to upskill Australians and drive recovery.

Housing of training products

As part of the Critical Skills for Recovery program, this project created one new mental health skill set, one new unit of competency and an accompanying CVIG to support mental health in the context of organisational disruption. The new training products are housed in the Business Services (BSB) Training Package as a cross-sectoral training product.
